More than 80% of high school students say their goal is to attend a four-year college. With just one guidance counselor per 500 students at the average U.S. high school, young people, especially in underserved communities, receive little support navigating the admissions process. Thus, middle and low-income high school students - many the first in their families to attend college - are often confused about which college to attend, stressed about the college application process and anxiety ridden about how to actually pay for college. They need information about financial aid, scholarships and jobs that help them offset the cost of a higher education.
Get Schooled was founded in 2010 with a mission has been to empower and engage young people and to give them the tools and inspiration to get the education they need to succeed. Using our digital channels, gamification and a recipe we call “sizzle and substance” we give students a voice to advocate for themselves along with access to the tools, resources and community that will help them fulfill their dreams.
We know it works.
To date, we’ve reached more than ten million young people attending close to 11,000 middle and high schools throughout the United States. Our diverse community has more than 750,000 members. Middle and high schools with more than 10% of their students active in the Get Schooled community are more likely to see an increase in attendance rates and college going rates.

Get Schooled
Since its launch in 2013, the Times Square Yearbook Scholarship has recognized more than 1,000 high school students from the Get Schooled community on a digital billboard in the heart of Times Square and given away more than a half a million in scholarships.
Times Square Yearbook winners have demonstrated how they have fostered their talents for good – whether it is through journalism, the law, medicine, technology, activism or mentorship. We want to continue recognizing the amazing students in the Get Schooled network.
You can help us continue to fund the college dreams of America's brightest students. Every dollar you donate will go directly to fund a 2017 Times Square Yearbook Scholarship. Get Schooled
For the past three years, the Times Square Yearbook has recognized Get Schooled students who have made a difference in their communities such as 2016 scholarship recipients Perla and Dilenny. As seniors at Manhattan Bridges High School, they noticed many of their classmates skipped school when they ran out of clean clothes to wear because they didn't have access to a washer and dryer.
Perla and Dilenny knew in order for their classmates to get an education, they first needed clean clothes. Together they created Project Clean Start. The dynamic duo created a GoFundMe account and told their whole school about what they were doing. They raised $3,000 and paid for people to use the washer and dryers on a specific day.
Now college students, Perla and Dilenny are among thousands of outstanding students recognized by the Times Square Yearbook scholarship program. Your donations will help us continue to support the education dreams of students just like them across the country.

Funding Needs
Get Schooled is raising money to support its Times Square Yearbook. We read about the crisis our young people face daily to get the education they need. In reading about the struggle, we can underestimate the incredible passion and drive of our young people. That is what Times Square Yearbook is for: to celebrate young people from the Get Schooled community who have a belief in themselves and a passion for making a difference in the world.
We have recognized a student from Milwaukee who was inspired to make music after the death of his brother by senseless gun violence. We recognized a student from Baltimore who hopes to ‘spark enlightenment’ about social issues by using words as tools to tell other people’s stories. And we recognized a young woman from Atlanta who will use her firsthand experiences in the foster care system to advocate for others facing similar challenges. These students are amazing and they deserve a quality education. Join us in supporting the Class of 2017.
